Yes, if you don't get a positivity, a positive vibes or a positive ambience easily then believe me you are in a right track of life. Now, How can we live our life then?? Let's give a look on our ancient Shastras...
In Padma Puran it is said that at the time of "Samudra Manthan" so many good or bad things were emerged. The bad things emerged before the good things and that's why ALAKSHMI came before LAKSHMI. Alakshmi means Anti Lakshmi (i.e. Which is not Lakshmi, the goddess or words symbolizes fortune, prosperity, discipline). So, Alakshmi is also known as "Jyestha "(an elder one). Both Alakshmi and Lakshmi were rose from the sea bed, Alakshmi came from the Kalakuta poison (the hala-hal) whereas Lakshmi came from the Amrita.
On other believe, it is said Lakshmi was born from the Creater God, Prajapati 's face (the radiant side) and Alakshmi was born from his back (the darker side) . Although, the name Alakshmi, is not mentioned in the Vedas and Upanishads but, the Rig Vedic goddess Nirá¹›ti matches her morals.
So, from all the legends we come to know that Alakshmi and Lakshmi both are belongs to same entity but, the different psychology. The poison or the amrita both are belongs to sea bed, the face or back both are belongs to Prajapati but their natural, psychological and behavioural existence are completely opposite(one is halahal, then other is amrita or, one is face, then other is back). So, when you find out the negetivity in yourself focus on you, keep the churning on of your internal exploration (atma-sandhan) the positivity will definitely come, because that exists nowhere except inside yourself. Lakshmi and Alakshmi always stay together. Some believe that Alakshmi is invisible, but in Bengal and Orissa there is a believe that Alakshmi came with a disguise of Owl. Yes , like this Positivity and Negativity both stay together in our mind now, its our duty to distinguish them.
Let's see another aspect. In old India tantrik tradition there is a story. Once a devotee practiced his rituals and wanted to please the Devi of Prosperity. Satisfied with his devotion Lakshmi came to his house but, her sister Alakshmi also came with her. The devotee was pleased to see Devi Lakshmi but merely unhappy to see Alakshmi beside her. Yet, he welcomed both of them cordially. Serve them with food (Bhoga) and after finishes the Bhoga, served to Lakshmi, she stood up and went out to wash herself. At that time the devotee felt extreme negativity, irritation, depression. He concerned only with the morbidity in his heart. When, Lakshmi came back he became balanced once again.
Now, Alakshmi stood up and went out for shit,( as she was an untidy one, she never washed herself) the devotee filled up with full of positivity. He became too much energetic and he thought he can do anything, he felt himself an enormous wealthy one. Due to this state of mind he became confused with his deeds, his personality and his behavioural attitude. But, when Alakshmi came again he became balanced again. So, he understood "only Alakshmi" is a perfect reason for decay and destruction whereas "without Alakshmi" Lakshmi is a curse of progression in disguise of boon.
So, to live in a balance way somewhere, we need both.
Probably from this Phylosophy (Darshana)we dedicate cooked meal to Lakshmi inside our house and hang lemon and chilli at our door to serve Alakshmi, (as nobody wants the "Kalahapriya" inside their house. )
Some legends depict that Alakshmi got married with Rishi Uddalakh. When, Nobody wanted to marry her, Vishnu insisted and made agree Rishi Uddalakh to marry her. After the marriage when Uddalakh took Alakshmi to his Ashram, she refused to enter and stay in the Ashram as the Ashram was filled with Satwa guna (Calmness, tidiness, disciplined, cleaned etc) . So, Uddalakh left her and Alakshmi became alone. She was morose enough, observing her this state of mind Lakshmi request Mrityu, the god of death to marry her and he did so.
With this believe we can easily understand if negativity takes the main position in our mind, being living we will behave like a dead one (that is the psychological death of a human)
From some other sources, like Mahabharata and others we come to know that at first Alakshmi lived with Lakshmi in Baikuntha but she never created any impact over Narayana. As Narayana always kept Saraswati in his mouth, over his tongue secretly.
And at Kalki puran it is said Alakshmi is the wife of the dangerous Asura Kali (the coordinator of the Kali yuga). And, the tenth incarnation of Vishnu i.e. Kalki will kill him at the end of this Yuga.
So, we can ignore those negative impacts which make us morose, frustrated(Alakshmi) by, the wisdom and knowledge (Saraswati). And with a proper execution (like Narayana) we can also destroy the negativity's strength (like Alakshmi's husband Kali). And after that when, Wisdom will lead us, positivity and prosperity (Lakshmi) have to live with us unconditionally. So, live with correct understanding and wisdom.
