There was an Asura (Daitya) King, Hiranyakashipu, who had been granted boon From Bramha that he could not be killed by any body who had a birth from a living womb, no human or animal can kill him, neither during the day nor during the night, neither on land nor on water nor on air, neither indoors nor outdoors and no weapon can make him dead. Due to this boon he became the strongest and most powerful being in the universe. His pride of power became exaggerated day by day and so, he announced himself the God of the Universe. With his army he always tortured the Devas. When his wife Kayadu became pregnant, insecure, frightened Indra abducted her but, Narada told Indra to be relaxed and allow him to take care of the unborn baby and his mother. So, the unborn baby always listen to the Narada's Chants from his mother's womb. And in his early childhood Narada taught him the spiritual devotion of Lord Vishnu. Yes, Vishnu, Hiranyakashipu had an immense hatred for whom. As, the fourth incarnation of Vishnu (বরাহ, Baraha) killed his brother Hiranyakashya to save the mother Earth.
When the baby boy, Prahlada meet his father he already became a devotee of Vishnu. Hiranyakashipu became so much angry of him so, he called the teachers Shanda and Amarka and instructed them to teach Prahlada the correct education as the Asura had. But the teachers failed to do so, then Hiranyakashipu had taken various steps to kill Prahlada. He ordered Prahlada to be trampled under foot of an Elephant, throw the boy over a mountain, put Prahlada in closed a room with venomous snakes but in every cases Prahlada survived.
After so many trials the disappointed King tied Prahlada to a pillar and asked Prahlada, "where is your Vishnu?" Prahlada said "Vishnu is everywhere, each and every corner, every being of this universe consist of Vishnu." The anger of the King reached at its apex, and the reaction reflected on the Royal pillar. When, Hiranyakashipu broke the royal pillar A strange creature emerged from that. The creature was partially human (Nara) and partially lion (Simha), depicted as Narsimha (5th incarnation of Vishnu) he was neither a human nor an animal, he dragged Hiranyakashipu towards the threshold, placed him on his thighs and tore his belly with his terrifying nails, during dusk.
After this phenomenon, the anger of Narsimha was uncontrollable, he was roaring repeatedly, no God were there who had the courage to go near him. Finally Brahma sent Prahlada to pacify him. Prahlada went near him fearlessly, and touches his feet. At that point the God Narasimha felt the sensation of love, he embraced the boy and declared Prahlada the new king of the Asuras.
A simple lesson that Prahlada teaches us which is known to all of us , and, some of us believe a lot. but, somewhere everyone of us forgets that too. That is nothing but "GOD IS EVERYWHERE" yeah a common, very common principal but we forget or disobey this at various stages of life. As we live our life so passionately that after every success or failure we make ourselves responsible. But can you decline the truth that you are completely unaware about your birth and death (the base of you) ?? Then why are you going to take the pride or disappointment in between these ?? Leave it on God / Nature / Destiny , (whatever your belief is). Do your work, do something through which, you can help yourself as well as others. Be Prahlada, a little boy having no power but survived in every difficulties , don't be Hiranyakashipu, having all the powers, concluded with a terrific death. We all are running to be powerful, successful and most of us believe that this is the ultimatum but can you ever decide Hiranyakashipu as a successful one?? Never as he had everything except ethical values, morality, knowledge of entity. So, remember the base of success depends on humanity....
There is a story in North India that Holika, a sister of Hiranyakashipu had a boon that fire could not burn her. So, Prahlada was placed on her lap and she enter into the fire with Prahlada but the belief of Prahlada on Vishnu created miracle this time too. Holika was burnt completely whereas Prahlada survived safely again. To glorify this story there is a ritual that is the colour festival,"Holi". In the night of the Purnima, people celebrated with fire. This signifies all the negative parameters like bad thoughts, jealousy, envy, cruelty, Hypocrisy etc (Holika) should be burnt. A soul should live with humanity, high ethical values, high morality, immense love for others and devotion towards wisdom and knowledge...(Prahlada) .
Although we read a lot of good words in favour of Prahlada but there is some dark side too. Once the powerful Prahlada was cursed and he forgot all his knowledge, morals, ethics and devotion towards Vishnu. He started anarchy and tortured everyone. Then Vishnu defeated him in a war and after that he reminisced everything again. Then he got back his realm again.
So, what's your thought right now?? Do you still believe it is impossible to be shined in an adverse situation?? Yes it's hard, definitely hard but not impossible. If there are thousands of Asura grew up, One Prahlada, one Virochana, one Bali also flourished among them. So, keep belief in yourself, be motivated with the kosher morals. Physical elements of Birth is not in your hand but when the sense is evolved in you, you can choose the right and wrong way of life. And it is also possible that having all the senses, sometimes we can live with the pernicious elements. It's our surroundings which always drag us towards the ill. So, however the way is , whenever you feel that you become harmful to humanity. Don't treat yourself with your ego. Say Sorry to yourself (atma suddhi ) and start a new life, Trust me, nature gives chances to everybody. So, don't waste yourself.
Thank you very much...
